The
unelected European Commission has refused the proposal for a
European Citizen's Initiative (ECI) against TTIP and CETA. ECI is the
process which involves collecting a million signatures from at last 7 member
states, to get a debate in the European Parliament and a response from
the Commission. But the Commission first has to accept the proposal -
and, in complex legal reasoning, it has refused.
