Austerity/ Tax the Rich.. the Cartoon Film that says it all.....Almost
Hello there, I was wondering what's happening with Come the Revolution Cafe are there any plans to resurrect the space as a cafe gallery? I'm looking for somewhere to operate an ethical food business from.
Dear Ian, For a huge range oof reasons, the Cafe was un viable, since we closed another project cafe has failed and 2 other small traders have hit the wall. Deptford is a tough area and high rents and Business rates make it almost impossible for any one on this site. We presently run the Lewisham and Greenwich food bank from this site plus advice centre. The main shop will sell Furniture, Books, Kitchen stuff, Cloths as well as Childrenss cloths exchange to raise the money to pay rent and rates plus daily costs such as heating and light. We Care the food bank also has 2 paid staff, presently all money is given to us comes from Housemartins estate agents, We have to buy the food, as donations do not come close to cover the hundreds of food parcels given out each week.
