Kareem Dayes here from RUSS ltd, we met over a year ago regarding our community land trust and working with Lewisham to find a site. We have made enquiries regarding the Watergate site at the end of Church Grove with the council and have begun creating a development proposal to create sustainable social housing. We have been speaking with Louise Spires about the possibility of partnering with Lewisham Council to achieve this. This proposal as it stands is attached along with an invite for an Open Weekend of discussion regarding the regeneration of Watergate on the 8th and 9th of December at Sanford Housing Co-op in New Cross Gate. We have several speakers confirmed including: Jon Broome - Architect and Self-build Expert, Gary Grant - Ecosystem Services, Dave Dayes - Self-builder and Eco-renovations, Tony Rich - Apprenticeships and Training, Paul Capel - Sustainable Architecture, Josef Davies-Coates - Community Action. The idea is to create a dialogue between ourselves, local residents, politicians, planners and designers to see what is needed and what is possible. It would be fantastic to have some people from Lewisham Council to come and speak. I am expecting many local residents to attend. Are you available? Can you recommend anyone else from Lewisham Council who would like to attend? Please pass on the flyer to anyone you think might be interested, the more people we engage with the better. Let me know your thoughts. Many thanks, Kareem Dayes Member and Volunteer of RUSS www.theruss.org <http://www.theruss.org> 0754 888 56 09
