Lewisham Hospital Guide to responding to Goverment Consultation

When you access this page, click on the link to “Use the online response form”. You will then be taken to a series of questions. You will need to click “next” at the bottom of the page to move onto the questions. Many questions relate to other hospitals in South East London. You can just click next or answer “don’t know” if you don’t have an opinion.

THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS TO ANSWER ARE NOS. 7, 13, 14, 15 &16.

You will be asked to provide some information about yourself at the end of the survey but you do not need to provide your name or address.

This is how I suggest you answer the questions (this guide has been taken from the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign website):

ANSWER questions 7 and 13 ‘Strongly Disagree’

ANSWER question 14 to say why Lewisham Hospital needs its A+E and emergency care to stay open.

ANSWER question 15 ‘neither of these options’. A “stand alone” obstetric unit won’t have adequate emergency back-up if things go wrong.

ANSWER question 16 to say we need full emergency back-up for safe maternity care in Lewisham Hospital

Please make sure you click through to the very end of the survey as otherwise your response will not be registered. If you would rather fill out a hard copy version of the consultation, you can request one by calling 0800 953 0110 (freephone). You will be able to return the form to a freepost address.
