Deptford energy co-operate launches March, be part of locals generating own energy

As People Before Profit launch our local election manifesto with ending poverty as part of our key campaign manifesto, i was delighted to have been contacted by Deptford resident G, who works in alternative energy and has worked extensivly on community projects such as this.
The Goverment has made public it will give £150,000 to local communities to come of grid and to produce low cost energy, at the same time the EU has stated it will give millions to local Councils to produce green energy materials in the UK instead of China.
As we are calling for Lewisham to create a Green enterprise zone to generate real well paid long term local jobs and tackle poverty this timimg could not be better.
People Before Profit aims to support and help turn this into reality by working with all groups and local residents with a public meeting called for Sunday 9th March from 4pm - 5.30 at the We Care Food Bank, 467 New Cross Road Deptford SE14 6TA.
You can express interest  by emailing me direst Raymondwoolford@aol.com

Come to the meeting and spread the word. We hope that even if you do not live in Lewisham, what you learn at this meeting will inspire and help you set up your own energy Co-operative in your community.

lets Make it Happen!
